Moving Nautilus Equipment Tips

  • Take pictures before and during dis-assembly
  • Mark components with masking tape to stay organized.
  • Place bolts back in holes and hand tighten the nuts whenever possible
  • Never allow guide rods to bend (Remove all plates unless you know the trick).  Call me for the details
  • Use chalk to mark the weight plates.  It's very important not to reverse any of the plates during re-assembly.
  • Loosely assemble the frame of the machine and then install the movement arm.
  • Tighten bolts from the ground up.
  • Pads and shrouds on last.  Test the unit before final assembly.
  • Use pdf files to make sure that you are using the correct length bolts
  • Perform a set or two with a small amount of weight to make sure of alignment and that everything is smooth (Listen to how the machine sounds)
  • If leaving the chain on the unit after the weight stack has been removed, connect the master link on the end of the chain to some twine and tie around the base of the machine as to provide tension on the chain.
  • Tie rope (or large rubber bands) around movement arm so that they don't hit you in the head (I'm speaking from experience)
  • Use a helper (or 2)
  • Call me if you have any extra parts
